Campus Safety

Day and overnight camp programs of the Academy are held on the campus of Oglethorpe University. Future Stars Soccer Academy has strict expectations of campers and staff that are intended to keep campers safe. The University's Campus Safety department creates and maintains a safe and secure environment - and peace of mind.

Campers are supervised by Academy staff at all times. Responsible, adult camp staff, coaches or professional trainers are on-site at all times, 24 hours/day for overnight camps. Campers are expected to stay with camp staff during the day and together in dormitory rooms after hours. Camp staff stay in adjacent dormitory facilities for safety, security, and supervision. Failure to remain safe at all times or stay in one's room after bedtime (lights-out) may result in dismissal without refund at the discretion of the camp director.

Campus Safety's officers patrol around-the-clock, keep an eye out for any suspicious activity, enforce laws and Oglethorpe's rules, are trained to deal with emergencies, and offer aid or assistance. This staff is professional and diligent, performing their duties on foot or by vehicle. Campus Safety secures and grants access according to schedule, which includes responsibility for parking lots, buildings, open areas and activities, such as our camp.

Oglethorpe University takes many steps to ensure the campus is as safe as possible. For example, an Emergency Action Plan provides guidelines for campus housing residents in the event of power failures and/or other issues. If there were an emergency, Campus Safety is available at campus extension 1998 or off-campus at 404.504.1998.
